Security measures are a topic Monroe District Administrator Rick Waski and staff consider constantly, whether the news of a mass shooting at a public school has just broken or teachers and students are conducting everyday activities within the district on an ordinary day.

Numerous roads around Green County were flooded with water and closed to traffic Feb. 20, with the Green County Sheriff's Office advising drivers to "turn around, don't drown." At about 1:30 p.m., Green County deputies and the Browntown Fire Department responded to help a driver stranded in his vehicle in the W7800 block of County Y, Town of Jordan, in a flooded-out area between Falk Road and the east intersection of Loop Road, according to Green County Sheriff Mark Rohloff. Firefighters escorted the driver out of the high, cold water, and his vehicle was towed out. The driver, Wesley G. Olson, 57, Argyle, was cited for driving without a valid driver's license, failure to obey a traffic sign ("Road Closed") and driving without vehicle insurance. No one was injured in the incident.
